What Are the Features of the DISH Player-DVR 625

August 30th, 2009 by Admin in Dish Network

DISH has an amazing number of DVR devices including the The DISH Player-DVR 625. This model is an advanced two-tuner satellite receiver with an integrated digital video recorder (DVR). The DVR can record about two-hundred hours of programs. Like most DVRs, the 625 allows you to pause live television, record programs and skip all of the commercials.

You can also create instant replays. It will do this on two televisions. When you are watching your recorded programs, you can record two live programs. Another features is that it supports Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound. This definitely sounds like a step in the right direction! I am going to check it out further.

My Son Has the DISH Network HD DVR

August 26th, 2009 by Admin in Dish Network

My son and daughter-in-law have a DISH Network ViP622 HD DVR, and they love it. It is a high-definition, digital video recorder receiver that really delivers better television. At least, that is what my kids tell me. I was raised with a black and white television that had no remote. At first, we used rabbit ears – no, not ears from a rabbit. Rabbit ears were a type of indoor antenna. I don’t know if they even sell them any more. Anyhow, they keep telling me I should switch from cable to DISH. I have to check out the financial aspect of it all before I decide. The ViP622 has the following features which would be nice to have: supports one HDTV and one SDTV; records up to 200 hours of SD, 30 hours of HD programming or a combination. There are other features which I don’t really understand, but you can look them up on the Internet.
